NORWICH: ‘Where's My Happy Ending' Mother Pukka and Papa Pukka

motherpukka_promo_final.png

Celebrate the launch of ‘Where’s my Happy Ending’ By Anna Whitehouse and Matt Farquharson a.k.a @mother_pukka & @papa_pukka in association with St Giles Gin

Maybe you’ve just had a first date with ‘the one’ or maybe you’ve been married for ten years. Either way, it’s hard to know if they’re really meant to be by your side until you both wear dentures.

Anna (@mother_pukka) & Matt (@papa_pukka), journalists and authors of the Sunday Times bestseller Parenting the Sh*t Out of Life, have been together for over ten years. They set out to discover what it takes to make it to forever by travelling the world to seek the answers to our greatest questions about love for their new book: How do you know you’ve got a keeper? Are we better off solo? How long does love last? They ask a former sex-worker and her ex-gigolo husband, celibate monks and free-loving hippies. They ask people who never wanted kids and people who have loads of them. They ask porn-makers and feminist academics, neurologists, psychologists and romance novelists. They ask a whelk fisherman and a lollipop lady. They speak to couples, throuples and singles; gay, straight and anywhere in-between.

And in asking these questions, they are forced to confront their own relationship after a decade of marriage. Through tears, laughter, and one improperly discarded toenail clipping. Their new book Where’s My Happy Ending?: Happily ever after & how the heck to get there gets answers for anyone who’s ever wondered ‘what’s next?’🤷‍♀

Join Anna and Matt in Jarrolds on Thursday 13th February at 7pm for an Anti-Valentine’s night and an honest, belly-laugh inducing journey of their experiences in love and marriage, social media and small children as they navigate the muddy waters of modern romance and share the answers with YOU! On the night you can enjoy a welcome G&T from St Giles Gin as you sit back and discover whether love and relationships could be simpler – or more complex than we think. There will be a Q&A and you’ll have your book signed by Anna and Matt.

A copy of Where’s My Happy Ending? (RRP £14.99) is included in the ticket price with a welcome drink from St Giles Gin or a non-alcoholic option. Ticket price is £25 plus £1.50 booking fee.

We also have a very limited number of date night tickets which admit two, so you can bring your partner or a friend! Date night tickets are priced at £40 which includes entrance for two, welcome drink for two and one copy of the book.

Please arrive at 18:45 for 19:00 start via the middle door in Exchange Street opposite Capt Americas, the event is in The Pantry on Floor 3.

  • 19:00 – 20:00 In conversation with Anna Whitehouse and Matt Farquharson, inc Q&A

  • 20:15 Book signing

  • 21:00 Event Closes.

We Got This (Sometimes!) and Jarrold would really love you to join us for the evening and take part in lively discussion on what it really means to find and keep love today.

NORWICH: The Unmumsy Mum & Man vs Baby in association with Naked Wines

Buy tickets for NORWICH: The Unmumsy Mum and Man Vs Baby in association with Naked Wines

After selling out in both Twickenham and Belfast in a few days, I'm very, very excited and honoured to welcome to Norwich; Sarah Turner and Matt Coyne, The Unmumsy Mum and Man vs Baby! That's right, TWO special guests, on one summers night, in association with the most excellent Naked Wines who are bringing their cash bar of stupendous wines and gin. I've made sure we have many seats! Please share with your friends, neighbours, aunts, uncles!

The Unmumsy Mum - a pioneer of honest parenting chat, the hilarious and eloquent author and social media sensation Sarah Turner now has three sons and has published two Sunday Times best selling books The Unmumsy Mum and The Unmumsy Mum Diary.

Man vs Baby - the founder of 'that' Facebook post that went viral, (“hero for dads everywhere” (Daily Mirror), "Very, very funny" (Phillip Schofield) "Imperfect, honest and open" Scarlett Curtiss, Sunday Times Mag) Matt Coyne has a toddler, a ginormous social media following and is a Sunday Times bestselling author.

How would you feel about hearing them chat IN THE SAME ROOM, NORWICH!!! No, scrap that, how about a big, beautiful barn (The Octagon Barn) on a warm summers evening before the summer holidays kick off!?!

Join us as we chat about everything - the early days, the toddler days, the school days, how they manage parenting with being authors and all the hilarious highs and lows in between! There will be Q&A and Sarah and Matt will sign their books after.

Don't go home straight away! Stay around for a drink. The bar will be open until 23:00 - it's THURSDAY night, it will be the summer holidays soon. Stay and relax a bit!

DRINK

  • I'm over the moon that Naked Wines are bringing a cash bar of their artisan wines and gin. They are a super ethical Norwich based company, who crowd fund for very talented wine makers and provide top notch wine at insider prices. The most exciting wines in the world are made by small, low-production winemakers who don't have the financial muscle to get on to the UK supermarket shelves, and by maverick, artisan winemakers who want to make wines their way, not the way the big retailers want them made.

FOOD

  • Bite The Bullitt are bringing their yummy hot food for you to buy so you don't have to eat beans on toast with the kids first, hurrah! (in their words: Primal & traditional coal fired food for festivals & events, engaging the audience on a sensory level with sound, vision, smell & punchy flavours 😏👀)

BOOKS

  • The new paperback versions of The Unmumsy Mum Diary by Sarah Turner and Dummy by Matt Coyne are available to pre-order when you buy your tickets :-)

Early bird tickets are £14.50 including a seat in the front couple of rows (the seats will be reserved for you), £16.50 thereafter plus £1.50 transaction fee.

CHARITY SUPPORT

We Got This (Sometimes!) Norwich donates 10% of profits to Get Me Out of These Four Walls, a Norfolk charity set up by a Norwich mum for mums with PND. There is an option to donate when you buy your tickets. They would be very grateful.

A donation will be made to the very important charity Kicks Count on behalf of Matt Coyne.

Unreserved Theatre Seating. Language *may* be fruity - adults only. Please note tickets for this event are non refundable but it is possible to transfer tickets to a friend - please let emma@wegotthisco.com know!

NORWICH: An audience with Simon Hooper, Father of Daughters

Simon Hooper aka Father of Daughters, the social media phenomenon of *only* 828k followers (!) is coming to Norwich.

<Update 9th May! Hats off 🎩 to Norfolk based brand Minivino* who are coming on board and giving EVERY guest a resealable single serve of their Italian vino at An Audience with Simon Hooper @father_of_daughters on 22nd May👏🏽, read more here>

Simon is father to four girls: Anya (10), Marnie (7) and two-year-old identical twins Ottilie and Delilah. He is married to Clemmie Hooper (aka @mother_of_daughters), who is, as you know, a midwife, a social media star and author of How to Grow a Baby and Push it Out.

Most of us love a bit of honest parenting to make us feel better and Simon is the insta-king of that, bringing the dad's voice to the squares. He has now written his first book "Forever Outnumbered". I started following Clemmie last year when Will was tiny, and saw her husband had an account. How novel, I thought, a husband having his own account! Now I feel a bit invested in their family life (do you think he will still come if he reads this😝?!)

Lots of people like his posts, and think his account is funny, other people google "father of daughters job" as they aren't sure how on earth one man can have a big family, a job and post about it. A recent study found nearly half of millennial dads (up to age 35) would be willing to take a pay cut to spend more time with their children. Simon's funny and honest take on life shows how he does this parenting malarky in his family.

Come and meet Simon at Open Norwich Tues 22nd May, and hear him chat modern fatherhood, equality, paternity leave, the juggle, why he starting documenting family life, how he’s creating a “side hustle” on instagram whilst having a full time job and what his new book is all about. You can buy his book from Waterstones (launches 3rd May) and he will sign it for you and pose for pics :)

Please arrive at 7pm, to start at 7:30pm.

Early bird tickets are £13.50 including a seat in the front couple of rows (the seats will be reserved for you), General Admission are £15.00 plus a small booking fee for each transaction. Unreserved seating.

👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼10% of profits from this event will be donated to Get Me Out These Four Walls, a Norfolk charity set up by a Norwich mum for mums with PND and maternal mental health issues.

Tickets are not refundable but can be transferred to another person.

Katie Kirby, author / blogger / greeting card maker / social media celeb and general all round mums' heroine is coming to Twickenham!

After her children were born, she realised they are NOT like the ones you see in Boden catalogues, and seeing as it was quite tricky to find work that flexed enough, Katie decided to start a blog about the gross injustice of it all. 400k facebook followers later, she has written her second book "The Daily Struggles of Archie Adams (Aged 2 ¼)".

Katie’s new book depicts the highs and lows of family life through the eyes of Archie Adams – one highly opinionated, creatively-stifled modern-day toddler. The world is out to get him, people tell him what to do, but he gets some comfort from his best friend Amelia and occasionally sinking his teeth into other people’s limbs. Then, his parents tell him that they are having another baby.

We'll be speaking to Katie about how she turned turned her blog and social media into a best-selling book, the inspiration for her latest book, how she juggles her new life as an author with being Mum to two boys

This exclusive event will be held in the Winchester Room at the Turks Head Pub, Twickenham.

Arrive to start at 7pm (hopefully that means you get out of bedtime!) and Katie's books will be available for purchase and signing!

Tickets start at £13.50 plus a small transaction fee.
