NORWICH: The Unmumsy Mum & Man vs Baby in association with Naked Wines

Buy tickets for NORWICH: The Unmumsy Mum and Man Vs Baby in association with Naked Wines

After selling out in both Twickenham and Belfast in a few days, I'm very, very excited and honoured to welcome to Norwich; Sarah Turner and Matt Coyne, The Unmumsy Mum and Man vs Baby! That's right, TWO special guests, on one summers night, in association with the most excellent Naked Wines who are bringing their cash bar of stupendous wines and gin. I've made sure we have many seats! Please share with your friends, neighbours, aunts, uncles!

The Unmumsy Mum - a pioneer of honest parenting chat, the hilarious and eloquent author and social media sensation Sarah Turner now has three sons and has published two Sunday Times best selling books The Unmumsy Mum and The Unmumsy Mum Diary.

Man vs Baby - the founder of 'that' Facebook post that went viral, (“hero for dads everywhere” (Daily Mirror), "Very, very funny" (Phillip Schofield) "Imperfect, honest and open" Scarlett Curtiss, Sunday Times Mag) Matt Coyne has a toddler, a ginormous social media following and is a Sunday Times bestselling author.

How would you feel about hearing them chat IN THE SAME ROOM, NORWICH!!! No, scrap that, how about a big, beautiful barn (The Octagon Barn) on a warm summers evening before the summer holidays kick off!?!

Join us as we chat about everything - the early days, the toddler days, the school days, how they manage parenting with being authors and all the hilarious highs and lows in between! There will be Q&A and Sarah and Matt will sign their books after.

Don't go home straight away! Stay around for a drink. The bar will be open until 23:00 - it's THURSDAY night, it will be the summer holidays soon. Stay and relax a bit!

DRINK

  • I'm over the moon that Naked Wines are bringing a cash bar of their artisan wines and gin. They are a super ethical Norwich based company, who crowd fund for very talented wine makers and provide top notch wine at insider prices. The most exciting wines in the world are made by small, low-production winemakers who don't have the financial muscle to get on to the UK supermarket shelves, and by maverick, artisan winemakers who want to make wines their way, not the way the big retailers want them made.

FOOD

  • Bite The Bullitt are bringing their yummy hot food for you to buy so you don't have to eat beans on toast with the kids first, hurrah! (in their words: Primal & traditional coal fired food for festivals & events, engaging the audience on a sensory level with sound, vision, smell & punchy flavours 😏👀)

BOOKS

  • The new paperback versions of The Unmumsy Mum Diary by Sarah Turner and Dummy by Matt Coyne are available to pre-order when you buy your tickets :-)

Early bird tickets are £14.50 including a seat in the front couple of rows (the seats will be reserved for you), £16.50 thereafter plus £1.50 transaction fee.

CHARITY SUPPORT

We Got This (Sometimes!) Norwich donates 10% of profits to Get Me Out of These Four Walls, a Norfolk charity set up by a Norwich mum for mums with PND. There is an option to donate when you buy your tickets. They would be very grateful.

A donation will be made to the very important charity Kicks Count on behalf of Matt Coyne.

Unreserved Theatre Seating. Language *may* be fruity - adults only. Please note tickets for this event are non refundable but it is possible to transfer tickets to a friend - please let emma@wegotthisco.com know!

NORWICH: Embrace: Second Screening at Odeon Norwich

Embrace has been shown once this year in Norwich. Since then, the demand for another showing is so high as women want to bring their friends, daughters, nieces, colleagues again.

Gather in Las Iguanas after for a drink or tapas if you can, please email me if you'd like to book a space (the restaurant would like to know numbers, that's all). So much to talk about after the film but it was too late last time!

More info below....

EMBRACE is a social impact documentary that explores the issue of body image. The project has been supported by nearly 9000 Kickstarter pledgers who responded to a fundraising trailer I released in 2014, which has now had over 25 million internet views. The inspiration for EMBRACE came about after I posted an unconventional before-and- after image on the internet in 2013 that sparked an international media frenzy. The image, which embraces body diversity, was seen by over 100 million people worldwide and led to hundreds of interviews and articles. But I soon realized how restrictive 4- minute TV interviews, 800 word articles and 140 characters on Twitter can be. This issue needed a louder voice on a bigger platform, so the idea of creating the documentary EMBRACE was born.” – Embrace Director Taryn Brumfitt

Rotten Tomatoes Reviews

Embrace is told from the point of view of Taryn as she traverses the globe talking to experts, women in the street and well-known personalities about the alarming rates of body image issues that are seen in people of all body types. In her affable and effervescent style, Taryn bares all (literally) to explore the factors contributing to this problem and seeks to find solutions. After 24 months of travelling, interviewing, production and post production Taryn and the Embrace team have created a film that is relevant, relatable, highly engaging – but above all life changing.

Rotten Tomatoes Reviews

Embrace had its world premiere at the 2016 Sydney Film Festival, where it made it into the festival directors’ top 5 picks and was nominated for the Documentary Australia Foundation Award for Best Documentary.

It’s Monday 4th June 20:30 at Odeon Norwich (it won’t be shown on their listings, I will be there to greet you).

Unlike a traditional movie showing, the people running the screening require that 45 more tickets be reserved in the next 30 days in order for the screening to occur.

"Body confidence, body positivity, postnatal bodies, not feeling ‘yourself’. An article of Clemmie of @mother_of_daughters in Red Magazine talks about loving your body the way it is. Natalie of @stylemesunday persuaded many women to bare all last year in the name of her #WarriorWomanProject

You're giving me feedback that body image and confidence is a topic to cover here in Norwich through the survey I'm running (here).

I came across a post by a woman in Surrey who’d been to see EMBRACE (Rating 12+) , she said it had transformed how she looked at herself and I dug a little deeper and it turns out anyone can host a one-time screening!

I want my daughter to be empowered, confident and intelligent, and I’m interested in how I can avoid her wasting time looking at herself critically in the mirror when she’s older"
